Summer Road Trip: Georgia

When we arrived in Monroe Georgia everything changed.  I became a little farm girl with my cousins Graham, Rosalyn, Fieldon and Nell along with Wallis the oldest who got there on the last night we were there.  We all had fun.

Like herding the lambs back into the ring full of sheep or meeting the donkey named sir charles but I call him donkey.  Like riding a horse in the middle of the forrest with no shoes on or going on a trapeze and falling asleep in the silks.  Like going inside Penfield where my family goes and has family reunions or going inside the ring in Penfield were we passed a bunch of cows to feed the horses fresh grass.  Like driving a golf cart in the middle of a farm without a license or feeding the chickens and ducks.  Like picking out the newly lade eggs that the chickens lade or calling the ducks dumb ducks because there just dumb, their really dumb in fact because they don't go in the pond they go in the kiddy pool and their like the populars in a high school so instead of dumb blondes I say "Heyyyyy dumb ducks".  Like catching a frog and naming him Funky or as I call him "The Funk" or letting the funk go in a lavender bush.  Like going to a cemetery and putting a red Daisy in each persons grave that I knew or spending time with the people who truly love you for who you are.

I did all of these!  The most fun part was the last one I said "Spending time with the people who love me for who I truly am".  It was really inspirational because I did all of these things in such little time.  But such little time can become the longest time in your heart.

(And what was really weird was watching my 8 year old cousin drive a pick-up truck all by herself!!)

DAY 2: ALABAMA/ATLANTA

We visited friends in Alabama. How modern, they grow all of their greens to eat healthy and well. Our friends have dachshunds and a garden in the backyard filled with greens and herbs. Their dachshunds, Lucky and Greta are the cutest little puppies ever. They are the smallest pups I have ever seen.

After the Alabama stop we went to my favorite cousin Elizabeth's work offices in Atlanta. She works at the Boys and Girls Club of America.  I met her boss and a lot of other people. The Club makes a place for kids to go after school.  But my favorite part of that stop was spending time with my cousin. It was inspirational because I never get to see Elizabeth and I was super excited to see her and I miss her right now. I live in Dallas and she lives in Atlanta and it was really fun to see her again.

Now we go to Monroe to see more cousins!

ROAD TRIP DAY 1: MISSISSIPPI

This summer my Mom and I are going on a road trip from Dallas to Maine.  I am going to post about everywhere we go on the way. Lastly I am going to post about our two destinations, Castine and Macmahan Island Maine. These posts will help me with my writing and description in my stories and maybe it will help you decide what you want to do on your trips!

Our trip started with leaving Dallas and heading to our first stop, Vicksburg Mississippi.  It is very special and modern and inspirational because first the barges go up and down the river and have been doing that before, during and since the Civil War.

Second we are staying in a very vintage hotel here.  The Klein family built the house way way back and were very inspirational to me because they lived way way way way back in the early 1900's .  We toured the whole hotel and that was probably the highlight of the stay here.  There are about 40 cannonballs that shot through the house, mostly patched up but there is even a cannonball in the wall next to the piano!  It has been a very special stay there and I probably will never forget it!!!

Next stop Alabama!

NOT "MEAN"

Taylor Swift has helped alot of people like cancer patients, Haitian survivors and survivors of the Tsumani in Japan.  This picture is of Taylor Swift performing at a children's hospital.

Even though Taylor Swift has helped people who have gone through a lot, she has gone through a lot too.  Like when Kanye West went on stage when she was getting an award and said, "Beyonce should have won that award!"

So in honor of Kanye she wrote a song called "Mean".  She said, "It's really cool to write a song about someone who ruined my memory -  and then get a Grammy for it!"

This song speaks to people.  It says be yourself. You have to turn to your friends.  Thanks to Kanye West, Taylor Swift got a little bit more stronger.

9 QUOTES TO INSPIRE

I'm going to tell you some quotes that I CAN understand and I WILL tell you what they mean from MY point of view!

1. Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes. - Oscar Wilde

This quote means that from every mistake you make an experience WILL come out of it.  It might be a good one or it might be a bad one.

2. While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free to choose our consequences of our actions. - Stephen R. Covey

This means that every action you make there is going to be a consequence.  You can't choose it or know what it is unless the person who chooses it tells you.

3. Insist upon yourself.  Be original. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

You can't choose who you want to be and you can't pick who your going to be.

4. We often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones that open for us. - Alexander Graham Bell

Sometimes people tell us the opportunities that we have.  And we always look at the opportunities, but we don't appreciate the people who give us the ideas.

5. What you are will be yours forever. - Henry Van Dyke

If I put it in my words it is "you can never lose who you are." - Mallory Legg

6. If you can dream it, you can do it. - Walt Disney

Do what you dream and dream what you do.

7. The crisis of today is the joke of tomorrow. - H.G. Wells

It means that every crisis won't always be a crisis.

8. The golden opportunity you are seeking is in yourself. - Mary Engelbreit

Your opportunities are always in you, but you have to find them.

9. Life isn't about finding yourself - life is about creating yourself. - George Bernard Shaw

You can't live life if you haven't created yourself first.

These quotes are inspiring because they get you through hard times and good times and even make you smile.

THE DEEP GREEN UNDERWATER KITE

The deep green underwater kite is a really fun and cool at the same time but also being Eco.

Minnesota's underwater kite resembles a child's toy as it goes down and dives in the ocean currents. But since seawater is mare than 750 times as dense as air, the small turbine that is attached to the kite (which is tethered to the ocean floor) can generate more than 750 times more energy than if it were (in fact) in the sky. Minnesota calls this device "Deep Green" and says it can generate over 400 kilowatts of power even in the very calm waters..."The design could increase the marketing business for tidal power by 80%!", the company says. If you want to see the first model it will be introduced off the coast of northern Ireland in 2011.

This product was invented in 2010.  It is modern because it has helped the earth and mother nature by just basically flowing around in the water. Maybe if this world can make at least one of these every 2 years we can make pollution a goner.  We can make bad stuff disappear in a flash.  I'm finished talking but you haven't spoken yet! You can do anything with the world.  You can care for it, pollute it, make it a better place or destroy it.  Think about that and then talk.  To anybody.  Friends, neighbors, business partners and encourage them to do a better thing with the world!
